I bought a digital camera for 拢29.99 on the 30th of November 2006 and I still have all the accessories and receipt etc. I know that Superdrug will take it and give me something back. Will they give me a Superdrug card or cash? I really hope it's cash as they don't have any more camera's in superdrug. Does anyone know if they will give me either a Superdrug gift card (obviously with the 拢29.99 on it!!) or 拢30 in cash?
PS. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong category - I'm new to Yahoo Answers! since you have the receipt you have the right to demand cash back,if they try to brush you off with a gift card you can reject this and demand that they return your cash if they refuse all you have to point out that under your consumer rights since the camera was faulty they are legally bound to return your cash on demand, but demand to speak to a manager and if neccesery make a scene in front of other customers they may try to argue that you have had it for more than 28 days which is a fair argument as you have 28 days to return an item normally. However, as it is faulty, you have up to 6 months to return it. If you ask for renumeration by the original method of payment. they cannot force you to take a gift card and cannot claim it's company policy as that is illegal.
They will try to tell you that it was fine when it left the shop but the onus is on them, not you, to prove this.
if all else fails, take back the item, receipts etc from the cashier and inform them you will be contacting Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading. Usually works.... |
