Camera camera camera?

I'm buying a digital camera. The thing is i have no idea how to get me a good one. Also, how do you take good picture? My photos are always look plain and blah. Can someone suggest me some useful tips.

One word. Digital

get a coolpix nikon. i just got one. it can take videos too. it also has different whats-it-called, makes the picture different colors and makes it look really cool. and for tips, go to cool places to take pictures, not boring places in your house. got to, streams, woods, flower fields, streching roads, and something awsome is to take a picture of a tree, with nothing surrounding it but grass. depends on whether or not you do landscaping pictures, people, motion, etc. but use interesting places.

you should get a SONY CYBERSHOT. it's great, really.

Olympus mju 780 .weather proof auto everything compact
I just got one very happy with it

First for a camera check to see how many mega pixels it is (the more the better)... and aside from trying different angles. Making sure the sun is at a 45 Deg angle to the subject your photographing. Take Pictures in the morning or the evening for best color. Try with/without flash...... Just some tips.. also you can play with different photo editing software...

I have been told I take good pictures. I look at what I wat to take a picture of, look at the suroundings and see how I want it to look. I have a Canon Powershot A540. I love all the differant settings. Sometimes you have to turn your camera a little crooked to get a neat shot.... toy with a digital, you dont like your picture delete it ... take annother till you find one you like... The camera I have also has a multi shot function so you cant take multipule pictures of a subject while they are moving then delete the ones you dont want to use.... Good Luck.

purchase a camera with a view finder, you cant see those screens in the sun light. also get at least 8 mega pixels. that is the no. of dots that make up the picture. then much practice. also a zoom will be great.

Read the test reports and opinions in order to find a camera that fits your budget and requirements.

There are books (and probably websites) that can help you punch up your creativity. It sounds like you might benefit from learning about composition, camera angles, and using available light in creative ways. For example, many people (especially the old film photogs, of which I am one) will always take pictures with their backs to the Sun (and human and animal subjects squinting like toads in a hailstorm). However, if they just tried taking a shot or two with the Sun to one side, or even with the subject(s) backlit (using fill flash, reflected light, or just more exposure time/bigger aperture), they might be pleasantly surprised to see a much more exciting image.

One of the best parts of digital photography is the ability to experiment for next to nothing - don't like a shot, just delete it and continue shooting.

Have fun!

If you stand perfectly still it gets a still image. If you look in your maual it should say how to take a picture. If you follow the rules you can get a great pic.

If you recognize that your photos are plain and blah, take a moment to analyze them and see what might improve them. That's the good thing about digital. It's free to take as many pictures as you want and see what the results are. Just don't keep taking the same blah pictures over and over again. Study the ones that you DO like and try to do the same thing again. Go to http://www.flickr.com and just browse for a while or a week. Don't hesitate to try to copy something that you really like and keep trying until you can actually do it and pay attention to what you did so you can do it the next time.

It's a learning experience.

Even though I personally own this ultra compact camera, I would still like to highly recommend the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix L10 for the following reasons:

1. Besides taking well-exposed hi-quality 5 megapixel pictures, it uses a standard set of rechargeable double AA batteries which last a very long time;
2. Has a 3x optical zoom;
3. Has a macro feature to allow picture taking under 6 inches;
4. The flash setting for "red-eye" correction is on the navigator wheel and not within a submenu;
5. It's very small and light;
6. Uses inexpensive SD memory cards;
7. The digital video feature takes wonderful "sound" videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone;
8. It comes with a USB 2.0 transfer cable which you connect to your USB computer port;
9. Has tripod mount on bottom of camera;
10. And the price is a mere $99 [sold at Samy's Camera - www.samys.com, and Staples.com.]

Review(s) can be found at www.amazon.com [Query: "Nikon Coolpix L10" along with pictures provided by satisfied purchasers.]

Good luck!
