Best place to buy a new camera?

Hey, I'm in need of a new digital camera (mine is at the bottom of the sea)

And just wondering where the best place (online or on the highstreet etc) was to get them, as in good deals on them. I'd like a semi-good one that isn't too expensive.

Any help appreciated =)

I've had a lot of success on Amazon.com. My camera retailed for $300+ dollars but I bought it on Amazon for $129 because it was last year's model. It's a Fuji and it's a great camera! It also has a 3-inch screen so I don't have to squint to look at the photos I took. You will need to buy at least a 1 gig memory card - costs $30.

You could also go to www.cnet.com and see what is recommended for cameras at your price range. They even have editor pics. It's a great consumer comparison site for electronics.

Finally you can check out www.pricegrabber.com

Keep in mind you can almost always get a better price online than in a store.

Compare prices on amazon, shop around though for a good deal.

I always find Dixons very good,their after care is brilliant and if you dont like what you bought,they change with no quibbling.

Best Buy has a good selection.

Don't get one online, It's not safe 2 get one online to be honest! In ur local electronics store,Tesco sells cameras too suprisingly and they are very cheap big brand names ike philips etc..! Online(but i wouldn;t recommend!) Amazon.com.My sister has a good one and it is philips..Anyways hope i've helped loL:D xxxxxxx

Argos currently have a Samsung S850 for 拢99. It is excellent quality and can do some really snazzy stuff.
You can buy online or in store depending on which is easier and what you prefer.

I got mine off Amazon UK

Suggest looking at either the Fuji Finepix A700 or the Fuji Finepix F20

Hi, you will always get a better deal on the web simply because they have much fewer overheads BUT its often the dedicated entheusiasts who work in the quality high street shops like Jessops who will talk you through the use of a camera and help you choose the one thats right for you.
I decided that such a service was worth supporting and bought my camera from Jessops, having researched it (with their help & on line & with camera magazine reviews).
That said I made sure I wasn't going to get ripped off and haggled a good deal getting alot of extras thrown in more than compensated for the highr price.
But firsty you have to decide what kind of photography you want to do...is it a serious hobby? Just for fun snaps? Any tricky lighting or situations you can't control that you want the camera to cope with - perhaps even one that floats and is water proof or water tight?
My last tip is - go for one with as wide an angled lens as you can.
