What are the things i should look for if im buying digital cameras?

make sure you it the self timer on it.

main thing is the pixels cos it says how clear the picture can be from then on its just the normal stuff zoom lens, auto focus,...... which are usually found in all the cameras nowadays get one with a antishake mode and make sure u buy one from a recognized company.

Megapixels,4 to 6 is sufficient. Optical zoom, MOST range from 3X to 12X optical zoom. The more zoom, the more money. One that doesn't eat up batteries. Only way to find this out is Websites like this, word of mouth, or testing organizations like Consumer Reports. If possible choose one that has an image stabilizer for shaky hands. Maybe go for one that's a bit beyond point and shoot that has aperture priority, shutter priority or just leave on auto.
I own a Sony Cybershot DSC-H2. Takes excellent 8X10s when enlarged. 6 megapixels, 12X optical zoom, image stabilizer and settings a bit more than point and shoot. Brands to consider, Nikon, Canon, Sony, Fuji, and Olympus.
