im looking to buy a camera and was wondering if it varies from different cameras the ranges u can take pictures.im not worried about how far it goes, but how close i can get.im looking for like 2ft,is it possible to take one this close.and most of them say no auto foucs and optical zoom,i dont know much about these cameras, what does that mean. Many cameras have a special mode, called 鈥渕acro mode鈥? at which they can focus much closer objects. If you don't activate this mode, it's not so much that the camera can't focus that close, but that it doesn't expect being required to do so, therefore it doesn't (if you want to know, it's usually a trick to shorten focusing times: in normal mode, the camera considers a shorter distance range, cutting on the closest distances, so that it doesn't need to move its lens back and forth so much, and therefore it finds proper focus faster). Many manufactures do specify their camera's macro capabilities, usually in cm., and so do many camera review sites like DPReview.
As for cameras without autofocus or optical zoom... are we talking normal cameras, or rangefinders? |
