DIGITAL CAMERA HELP!!!!!!!!!!! please?

I am about to buy a SOny Cybershot Camera and I need some help. How can I get my photos from my digital camera downloaded on my computer? How do I get them printed (were do i go)? do i have to have a printer to print out my pictures. does anyone know how much it will cost to get them printed?thanks so much for all of your help everyone. Have a good day.

I would advise against buying a Sony digital camera, if only because of Sony's reliance on Memory Stick as its proprietary storage format. If you decide to get another camera in the future, you won't be able to use MS with any other brand, so it limits your future options in a big way.

Any camera you buy will contain software that will allow you to upload your pictures to your desktop. From there, you can share them on a variety of sites like Kodak.com, and you can easily place orders to have prints made at Shutterfly.com. I think they're something like ten cents a print.

But seriously, I would consider another camera brand, one that supports with SD or CompactFlash memory. That way you're not limiting yourself when you upgrade your camera in a few years. Panasonic, Canon, and Olympus all make great quality digitals.

Trust me -- my job is as a Best Buy product trainer, so I have no investment in any one brand. I just want to make sure people get something that will be A) easy to use, and B) easy to expand. Good luck.

Well i have a sony cyber shot camera and its working out great! Well if you have a memory card then just plug the memory card into the memory card slot and it will automatically pull up the memory card thing, and you can copy the pictures from the memory card to ur computer. You can either print the pictures from your own printer, or you can go to Kinkos or something like that. Albertsons has a digital photo center where u plug in your memory card, then you choose the pix you want to print, but its about $0.10-$0.50 cents per 4x6 pic you print.

Good Luck!

"How can I get my photos from my digital camera downloaded on my computer?"
You can connect your Sony camera to your computer with the supplied USB cable and the computer's software will allow you to download your picture files. Your camera can't really do much until you get a Sony Memorystick or two. They're going down in price, so stock up. Another way is to get a USB memory card reader. Get one that takes several different kinds of memory cards. That will save your Sony's battery and allow you to download pictures from friends' cameras or from any camera you get in the future.

"How do I get them printed (were do i go)?"
You can bring your Memorystick to most photo counters at many stores and the kiosk there will read your photo images and let you modify them and choose sizes with it's built-in screen. You can also give the Memory stick to the person at the photo counter, where they'll copy the picture files off and return the Memory Stick back to you. A third option is to upload them to one of many, many websites that either allow you to pick up your pictures at a local store, or will mail them to your house.

"do i have to have a printer to print out my pictures."
No, but it does give you that immediate satisfaction. Most current computer printers do fine.

"does anyone know how much it will cost to get them printed?"
Currently less than 25 cents per print. Less if you do a larger number. Look for weekly specials!

"thanks so much for all of your help everyone. Have a good day."
You're welcome.

I have a Canon Powershot SD700 which is a great camera, has stabilization, digital zoom, and many shooting modes. It was expensive though for a digital. Look around see what you can get, I haven't heard much about the Sony Cybershot. Also, base your opinion on how big your prints are. You dont need a really expensive digital camera that supports high resolution and has a lot of pixels if you are only going to be viewing your pics online or if you are gonna be printing small. Generally though, the more pixels you have the clearer and sharper your pics will print and display.

Basically, whatever digit camera u get will come with a USB cable. You plug the cable in from your camera to your computer (just like an iPod) then you can upload them. They will probably upload to a .JPEG format. From there just print them out if you have a printer, if not you can order prints on like, Kodak.com or something like that. I have an iMac so my photos upload directly to iPhoto, which is an application that organizes and lets you view your photos easily.

If your PC has a burner, dsownload the pics. Refine them in a photoshop program, export to a different folder and upload them full size to a disk. Take the disk to Walmart and print the pics on a Kodak pic maker.

The Rat

To get the pictures onto the computer you plug the USB cord into the camera and into the computer. Then a thing will pop up on the computer asking what you want to do and then you chose the one that says "open folder to view files". Then you'll see all the pictures, you might have to go through some other folders first though.

They print out normally and it's good to have photo paper if you want them to come out really good. There's an HP Printer that you can just stick the memory card into and chose which pictures you want to print. But otherwise you just right click on the picture and click "Print".
Good luck! =)

i got that camera and it broke, dont get it, it really is a peice.

Hey you should have a memory card or a usb cord to hook into your computer. Your photos will go automatically to you pictures file or if you have an adobe reader you can have them go there. You can have them printed off through York photo.com I just had some done from there and they look great. put me in as who sent you. thanks

Every digital camera comes with a chip that contains your pictures it's in your camera somewhere you just have to look for it.Once you find it take it out CAREFULLY and put it in the USB port in your computer. All of your pictures will pop up on your screen and there you go! O yea and pictures will probably cost about 10 or 15 cents to print just bring some extra money in case.

Good luck with your pictures and i Hope this helped you!
P.S. I'm on you buddy list

i have a sony cybershot camera. you get an USB cable with the camera, you have to download the software from the CD and then transfer your pictures. you can print them with your regular printer by using photo paper, but you can go to a store and give them your chip which has the pictures on it and they will give you the pictures. usually it cost about 15-19 cents to get them printed.
