This will extend the length of time that RadioShack will honor the manufacturer's warranty equal to the length of the warranty, up to an extra year. In other words, a 90-day warranty will be extended to six months, a year warranty will be extended to two years, but a two year warranty will only be extended to a total of three years.
As to discounts, RadioShack instituted a test program last year called "Last One Clearance". Typically, if a camera model is transitioned into Clearance pricing, the last unit in stock, if it is on display, will receive an additional mark-down posted on the price tag itself. This is the only situation in which RadioShack will discount a display camera as it's meant to be an incentive to clear displays for old models out quickly. Participation in this program varies, as it depends on the store keeping track of the "Last One" status of its cameras, and is not guaranteed for every model of camera sold. |
