What is the best brand of digital cameras to buy?In my opinion Kodak easy share cameras are one of the best.
Win you by one you get a very good picture editing program that helps you do lots of stuff
These cameras are also not to expensive and also very easy to use I love kodak! samsung Do not choose by brand! For example, I've been very happy with the Fujifilm Finepix F10 and would also love to own the Fujifilm Finepix S3 Pro UVIR. On the other hand, Fujifilm also makes some really junky cameras. Shop for the specific model you want. fugi film I'm being lazy here and copying text that I posted just a few minutes ago elsewhere, but it's a similar question so here goes ;) ....
Forget brand names unless you're seriously planning to build a system with dSLRs, in which case the best brand *for you* will be the one that offers lenses, accessories, and support most suitable to you.
For compacts, or even for entry-level dSLRs where you don't think you'll be buying much more than the kit + maybe a long-zoom lens, any of the major brands are comparable with each other (barring a few)... Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Samsung, Pentax and Kodak are preferrable brands and for compacts none of them really stand apart from the other when comparing competing-class models. Go check out some review websites (www.dpreview.com is a good one), handle a bunch of different models in the store and see which one you like best in terms of handling, button layout, features, etc. The one that feels right *to you* is the best camera. Pardon my repost from another question here:
The best brand of camera is the one that fits YOU and your needs. I love Nikon (my brand) and Canon (note to fans who spell it 'Cannon', ahem...). In my family, two brothers shoot Nikon, one uses Sony, another has Pentax, and still another swears by Canon. You should see the competition at family gatherings!
What's best? Only you know the answers to these questions:
How does it FIT my hands?
Am I comfortable with the camera menus?
How second-nature are the controls?
What kinds of lenses do I need to use?
What types of photos do I want to take? ("All of them" is cheating)
How much time am I willing to learn to use my camera?
Do I want one with easy automatic features?
Is Image Stabilzation in the camera body or lenses important to me?
How much money do I want to spend, now?
Are there lenses that I have access to from a particular brand?
Am I choosing a camera for it's "look at me" factor, or because I want to take memorable pictures?
Do I want a full DSLR or will a pocket camera suit my needs?
It has to be personal, because a camera needs to be an extension of the photographer - you. Even though I personally own this ultra compact camera, I would still like to highly recommend the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix L10 for the following reasons:
1. Besides taking well-exposed hi-quality 5 megapixel pictures, it uses a standard set of rechargeable double AA batteries which last a very long time - 300 shots per set of rechargeables;
2. Has a 3x optical zoom;
3. The flash setting for "red-eye" correction is on the navigator wheel and not within a submenu;
4. It's very small and light;
5. Uses inexpensive SD memory cards;
6. The digital video feature takes wonderful "sound" videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone;
7. It comes with a USB 2.0 transfer cable which you connect to your USB computer port;
8. Has tripod mount on bottom of camera;
9. And the price is a mere $119 [sold at Samy's Camera - www.samys.com, and Staples.com; $99 at amazon.com]
