I'm looking for a really good digital camera. Can anyone recommend one they have or would buy 拢300 max?

I have recently purchased an Olympus 700 All weather digital camera it is a 7.1Megapixel camera and I have to say that it is without doubt the best camera I have ever owned

There are so many settings that I just don't know where to start!

You can pick one up for about 拢165 online and some even do camera bundles which includes a 512meg picture card included for about 拢190

Really really good camera, I would highly recommend it

go for a panasonic lumix fz5 its got a 12x optical zoom 6 mega pixel and its the bollox ! they cost about 拢300 i found 1 on a bus ! lucky me

go for a digital SLR, with this budget you will get an entry level one, but it will still be a lot better than a 'good' point and shoot digital.

Talk to jessops but don't buy, there are a lot of sites testing cameras

I want to buy a digital slr, about 7mp, but I'm a long way off, and most them are a tad more expensive than 300 quid. Try Jessops or argos online to see the best ones. I'm sure theres a 7mp zoom Samsung digital camera in argos reduced to half price. 拢160 odd from about 拢300.

Thank you citygent,I've been wanting to know the same answer so I'm glad I gain 2 points instead of losing 5....actually,I can't say I'm that bothered about the points...!...although this does mean I'm now up to 300 points..WHOOPIE!!!!!

I have got a camera from the Casio Exlim range and think it is fantastic. No fuss, no hassle, 2.0" screen on the back, SD/MMC mem cards and movie with sound. Go and check them out as you can get a 6 mp for around 拢270.

Canon Ixus (the latest one out) they are the sexiest cameras around, really small but excellent quality. I worked in a Camera shop for over a year and never had a Canon come back for a refund!

Nikon Coolpix range, unless you want a DSLR then the Canon D50 is within your range
