Do you need to buy a memory card with a D.Camera?

I want to buy my first digital camera, but the salesperson tryed to make me buy everything(carrying case, camera dock/printer, memory card). The camera i was going to get was a Kodak, it has 32 mb internal memory, 6.1 mp. Do i need to buy the memory card or how many pics can i take before the internal memory is maxed?

If i need a memory stick whats a good size. i have kids and tend to go PIC CRAZY!! lol

First, how are you going to use the pictures? If you're going to print posters, the 6MP is great. If you're going to print 4x6 photos or just share them on your computer, don't waste your money on a 6MP camera. You'd be fine with less than 3 MP - with that you can still print a very nice 8x10 photo.

If you do go with this camera, you don't HAVE to always make 6MP photos. You just change the default settings on your camera to a "lower quality" (which just means smaller size photos). Ask the salesperson or check your owners manual for instructions. The reviewer who divided the number of megapixels into the number of megabytes (for a total of 5 photos) was wrong. See the link below for specifics, but it's actually about 9 - 10 photos at the full 6MP size.

That said, you really should buy a memory card for your camera. Prices have gone way down (I remember buying a 128MP SD card for $80 only four years ago, and now you can pick them up for ten bucks or less). Watch for sales and rebates - if you have a local Staples, you can get 1G SD or Compact Flash cards this week for $25 after rebate.

As far as the camera with docking station and printer - it really depends on your preference. If you have a good printer already, and a computer that is reasonably up to date (and you're comfortable working with), then spend your money on a CAMERA and not on a printer and docking station. That just my personal opinion, however. If you're more comfortable with a docking station, then go for it. Check out the second website for reviews, both by the website and by users, of many digital cameras. You can also enter your requirements and get a list of cameras that will do what you want in the Feature by Feature Buying Guide.

there is internal memory (but 32 mb is nothing). if you are satisfied with only taking a few pictures then transfering them to your computer, then the internal alone should sufice. if you want to take 30+ pictures or short videos even, then you are going to want to buy a memory stick. i recomend buying them online because they are cheaper. get a good sized one too. you'll only be thanking yourself in the end.

I have a kodak digi cam. It takes wonderful photos. I did buy a memory card for it. If it only has a 32 meg card in it, and it takes 6 meg pictures, do the math. You can only take 5 photos. Unless you reduce the resolution of the picture. Make 2 meg photos. I bought a one gig card, so i could leave the camera set at 6 megs, and i can take plenty of photos, withought having to return to my computer and upload the photos.

You will probably need to buy a memory card, cameras internal memory only take 10-20 pics depending on the quality of the pics. I would suggest 128mb or higher.

the most basic stuff that you will need other than the camera itself, would be the storage card. if you are the sort who likes to be trigger-happy, get a 1GB card. that should last you for a long while.

second most important stuff that you might need would be: additional battery (sorta negligible in many cases), tripod and carrying case. and also a card reader if your PC/MAC does not have one installed.

internal memory is never enough for anyone.

In highest resolution and largest size, you would get about 10 pictures on your 32 MB internal memory.

At 6.1 MP, consider at least a 256 MB card. I'd really recommend a higher speed 1 GB card, though.

Hi, I recommand you to try google picasa.

picasa is a Google's photo software. It's what should've come with your camera.

It can Edit , organise and Share you picture and small video flips.

It's very easy to use and is free, just like Google

Download it free in here:

Good Luck!
