Hi, I'm looking to buy a new digital camera..the one I currently have is pretty old. I just wanted to know what are some of the clearest picture cameras out there for about $150-$300. Please give me advice from experience..thanks in advance. a powershot A series would do the job just fine. I think 5-6 megapixel would be just perfect for that kind of camera.
There's been a few talks that more megapixel in small pocket camera is the recipe of more noise in your picture. for me, it's better to choose a camera whose brand is Sony.

All of the major brands are good. Choose a brand that appeals to you. Then you have to think about getting a spare battery, what size memory card, if you want an extended warranty, how much you can afford, what size zoom, if you want manual controls, the size of the camera, finding a reliable place to purchase it, and the list goes on and on and on.......
The first thing to realize is that almost any digital camera will take good pictures. If more people would read the manual more than once, they would be able to take better pictures. Usually, the person assumes it is the camera when it could be them not knowing exactly what to do. Just give yourself more photographic knowledge by doing more reading on the internet.
I really believe buying a camera is an individual choice.
The person needs to read alot of reviews on cameras so they can decide on the features that they really want and need.
Go to the store and hold them so you can see if they feel comfortable in your hands. If possible, take some pictures in the store to check the quality of the pictures.
I can only give a suggestion of what to look for in a new digital camera.

***memory cards info: The more "megapixel " the more memory it will take up on a camera card. I got a chip that can hold 244 pictures to this camera, the lower megapixel, the more picture's the card will hold. My old one is a 4.0 and with the same card it will hold 318. So I am lossing about 74 pic's. I got a 1GB MEMORY CARD Best Buy will show you what memory card goes to each camera because not all of them are the same kind of card.
If someone is into taking pictures and making them like a 8x10 or higher, then their needing a camera with a higher megapixel. So if your not that type of person that does that and only developes them 4x6 to 5x7's the most then you should get 1 then is between 4.0 & 6.0 megapixel.

Good Luck you will love wheat ever you get especially since your camera is older. You will be surprised what's out there NOW! Make sure you still ask lots of Q's and ask about their warranty coverage. With Best Buy the have a lot of different ones. I pay $30.00 for 2 yr warranty it includes customer abuse coverage. I need that because I have teen's and god knows what they can do!!!..lol
1 more thing I paid for this camera $199.99 & the memory card $29.99 ( which hold 244) there are other 1's with less hold its up to you if your wanting less if you do get less , it would be faster for you to have to download it on a cd on your computer or the stores ( Walmart,Walgreen , etc...) |
