In shanghi china where is the best bet to buy electronics, digital cameras etc?

If you are only traveling in Shanghai I suggest that you do not buy electronics there. Due to tariffs the prices of electronic goods are higher than most places (US, Hong Kong, etc). If you live in Shanghai and are looking for places to buy electronics I would suggest Metro City (In Chinese -> Mei Luo Cheng) this is located in the center of Xu Jia Hui. Another place with a big selection in Hong Kong Plaza on Huai Hai Road, that area has a few electronics malls. If each of those places you can haggle on the prices of the products.

Right. Shanghai is not a good place to buy electronics unless you have to. If you want to say money, look at local online auctions. You can get some real nice second hand stuff cheap off some spoiled only child that wants the latest and greatest.
