Thank you for your opinions in advance.. ^.^ ~~~~ The main difference when choosing a hi-megapixel camera is the increased length of time between pictures due to processing of the image within the camera. In a sense, a 5.1 megapixel camera can take a quicker series of pictures than a 7.1 megapixel camera. On the other hand, you are likely to look foolish in front of friends while holding the 7.1 megapixel camera, because "I can't shoot another picture - the camera is still processing the previous image." Daah!
Nevertheless, here's my favorite "best buy" qualified digital camera.
Even though I personally own this ultra compact camera, I would still like to highly recommend the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix L10 for the following reasons:
1. Besides taking well-exposed hi-quality 5 megapixel pictures, it uses a standard set of rechargeable double AA batteries which last a very long time;
2. Has a 3x optical zoom;
3. Has macro feature for close-ups of small objects focused under 6 inches;
4. The flash setting for "red-eye" correction is on the navigator wheel and not within a submenu;
5. It's very small and light;
6. Uses inexpensive SD memory cards;
7. The digital video feature takes wonderful "sound" videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone;
8. It comes with a USB 2.0 transfer cable which you connect to your USB computer port;
9. Has tripod mount on bottom of camera;
10. And the price is a mere $119 [sold at Samy's Camera - www.samys.com, and Staples.com.]

Good luck! yes, a 7.1 has much better picture quality compared to a measly 5.1.
the difference is quality of the pictures
good luck :) no wont notice the difference unless you want to blow the pictures up to poster size well, its not a huge difference, but if you like extra clear pictures, the 7.1 megapixels should satisfy you more than the 5.1 megapixels. Not as much as you'd think.
But- it depends more on the individual camera, lens, and size of the ccd, than it does on the number of pixels.
You didn't mention the specific cameras. These days almost everything sold is more than 6 Mpix, so if you're comparing a 5Mpix camera, it could be a 'cheap' one- so it really may be noticeably poorer in image quality. But- not just because of the number of pixels. I have had both types. This all about how big you want the picture. The 7.1 will give you a VERY clear picture better than the 5.1. I have the new Cyber shout and I love it. I hope that kinda helped When buying a camera, megapixels are an important factor. But they shouldn't be the only deciding factor. A camera with 5.1 megapixels will have lower resolution and clarity. A camera with 7.1 megapixels will be able to be blown up bigger without losing visible resolution, and will be crystal clear.
Other deciding factors for buying a camera is cost, you want to get a good camera, but in an affordable price range.
Also, it depends what you plan to use it for. If you want to become a photographer, a camera with multiple modes, including manual mode, will be better adjusted for your need and can help improve you photography skills than a camera with just an auto mode. Also, if you do plan to go into photography, you might want a higher amount of megapixels.
But if you want a camera just to record events and for the camera to do everything itself, a camera with auto mode will be important. If this is the case, I suggest that you use a Kodak EasyShare, there are many kinds out there which can suit your requirements.
And don't forget to read the manual that comes with the camera, your camera may be able to do some awesome stuff, and you may not know about it! It can also help your camera performance, if you know what you are doing!!!!
I hope this helps!!!! |
