When you insert the card, your camera will tell you. As you adjust the image resolution, you will see changes of the capacity of the card.

You can do the math when using different size cards.

2GB = 4 x 512MB card, etc.

That depends entirely on the megapixel capacity of your camera. More Megapixels means fewer pictures.

i have a 1 GB , holds about 250 pics and is a 6.1 megapixel camera

if it's 2gb,maybe can take more than 1500
and sometimes it depends the quality of the pictures,when it gets high pixel ,maybe less.

I have a 128 mb card in my camera (and not sure what 128 mb means) I have had as much as 170 photos stored in that card and still going until I accidentally erased it. Also I am using the smallest reading in the camera (they say that will allow more photos to be stored. And again if you are able to take movies with your camera you will use up your card faster. I have had several movies up to 3 minutes and still came up with 170 including the movies.
Have fun I sure enjoy mine. Pack it on my belt wherever I go and sure get some interesting photos that way.

I have a 2GB, and for me, it can hold 1600.
but my camera is 7.2 megapixels so it might depend on how much yours is

I have a 1 gb card and it holds 400 pics. If you buy a 2 gb it can hold anywhere from 600-700 pics.
