What type of digital camera do you have? do you like it?

what are the pros and cons of your digital camera? do you like it? cost? i am looking into buying a digital camera for the first time this summer and would love to know others' opinions! thanks!!!

and what brand, size, store you bought it at...

I own a Nikon Coolpix 5900, Nikon D50 and a Pentax Opti W10.

The Nikon Coolpix was my first digital camera, it was a great camera while it lasted. I only paid $250 shipped for it. I can't really think of any cons for it for the price. It did everything I asked of it, turned on quickly, took great pitures. It is really too bad that during a trip to Green Bay, when it beer was spilled on it, but it still worked and then someone dropped it, finally ending its life. Still don't know who dropped it and still a little pissed off about that.

I recently purchased a Nikon D50, a digital SLR camera for my wedding and honeymoon coming up. I wanted a nice camera to document the event. I only paid $500 for the camera and a lens. It was a pretty good deal, so I had to jump on it. I took it to wedding we had to go to this weekend and got some great shots. It is a great camera for the money. The cons are probably its upfront price and the cost of all the lens and accessories that you can get for it. It also is a more advanced camera, so it is not for everyone.

I also picked up a Pentax Opti W10 mainly for the honeymoon. It is a nice small and thin point and shoot camera. It is also water proof, one of the only cameras that is. For $240 shipped, I don't see anything wrong with it. It takes great pictures, and is easy to use.

I have Olympus. Its ok.

A Kodak EasyShare isn't very expensive and it's easy to use. The bad side is that it runs down the batteries really fast if you want to use the display screen. Radioshack has some out now that have batteries that will charge when you plug it in to your computer.

I STRONGLY suggest you look at this site. It will help you decide what type of camera, price, size and options you want!!!

I have the Panasonic Lumix DX-7, and its quite nice. It has big lcd monitor and best features in digital camera. But i think it depends on ur need to use the type of digital camera that u want to buy.

Kodak easy share with docking station & 512 memory card, I get 540 pix at best setting with rechargable batteries.
3.2 mega pixle. Batteries last 170 pictures.
It's o.k. bought on E-bay for $72.00 new in box.
camera sold for $399.00 docking station for $79.99.
So I got a good deal. Next one will be 5 mea pixle

I just got a Canon 5d. It has 12.8 mega pixels. It's really amazing.

Nikon D50. I've always liked Nikon. I've been using a Coolpix 3100 for a couple of years, and just upgraded to the D50.

When I purchased my grandparents a camera 3 months ago, by far the best one I could find was a Sony Cyber-Shot W7 which you can pick up for around $300.

I'm not sure how fancy you are looking for, but from what you said in your question i'm thinking you're not looking for something professional.

The sony is very fast to turn on and take a photo. The other brands dont compare (except nikon) in terms of speed. The quality also seems very good. I haven't found any downsides yet. The screen is also very big.

Good luck whatever you choose.

I use a Nikon D70s and I absolutely love it. I use it for personal use and I also do wedding photography on the side. So far myself and my clients have been pleased with the results. The D70s has many manual and auto settings to choose from. The D50, D70s and D70 are very similar, but I am not sure what the differences are between the three cameras. Nikon is an excellent camera manufacturer and should it need repair, it is easier and less expensive to fix then Cannon because it can be done locally. They are very sturdy though, and it would take A LOT to damage one. I got an incredible package deal with several lenses and accessories for around $1200, but cheaper packages are available. Check out www.royalcamera.com for packages on all types of camera and lenses.
