Steve's reviews updates the "Best Camera" list periodically:
http://www.steves-digicams.com/best_came...
This is somewhat out of date, but check this page for a general idea: http://tech.yahoo.com/rc/digital-cameras... Most cameras mentioned have been replaced with newer models, which we will hope are as good or better than what they replaced.
Here's another resource for you. Look on down the page if you are interested in point and shoot cameras instead of dSLR's. http://www.digitalcamerainfo.com/ratings...
Here's another listing in order by ratings. They are only separated according to general groups, such as "Highly Recommended," etc. They are NOT listed within the groups according to higher rating. They are listed by date tested.

olympus!! i have 2 and never have any problems with them! i bought one about 4 years ago and it still works just as new. but, i recently just bought a new one .. the stylus 730 and love it!! .. good luck :) I like Canons I would suggest this one:
The best camera for under $200 is the Canon A550
* 7.1 Megapixel
*4X Optical Zoom
* Very good photo quality, noise levels low through ISO 400 (in good light)
* Well built for the price
* Very good performance
* LCD visible in low light
* Some manual controls
* AF-assist lamp, good low light focusing
* Good movie and continuous shooting modes
* Impressive software bundle
* Uses AA batteries; great battery life
* USB 2.0 High Speed support I work in the Walgreens Photo Department, and I've been looking for a new camera. Whenever customers have some really nice pictures, I ask what they are shooting on, if they like, would they buy again from that camera family, etc.
The two i hear about the most are the Kodak easy share and the Canon PowerShot.
I researched these two to see what camera's they all offered, and ended up just buying the Kodak z710, and love it. I got it from their website for $229 and it has crisp pictures, and there are many feature to play with. Or, you can just shoot on auto and it's not overwehlming. Stay with Sony, Fuji, Canon, and Nikon. I own a Sony Cybershot DSC-H2. Plenty of zoom at 12X optical and is 6 megapixels. Has image stabilizer and comes with batteries and charger. |
