I want to buy a new digital camera, but there are soooo many options out there! Which ones are the best and what should I look for when trying to pick one out? A camera with 4 to 6 megapixels would be sufficient. Most cameras are 3X optical zoom or 4X optical zoom. The more zoom the more you pay. A camera with an image stabilizer comes in handy for shaky hands.
If you think you may be interested in a camera with lots of zoom, I recommend mine. Takes excellent 8X10s when enlarged. It's the Sony Cybershot DSC-H2. Very good on AA rechargeable batteries, 6 megapixels, 12X optical zoom. I also highly recommend my daughter's super zoom camera.
It's a Fujifilm Finepix S5200. 10X optical zoom, 5 megapixels.Also takes excellent 8X10s.EXCELLENT on AA rechargeable batteries.
Last, the Canon Powershot A630 is a fine camera.
It's excellent on AA rechargeable batteries, is 8 megapixels, and 4X optical zoom. Buy a camera that has a viewfinder. Using an lcd screen solely, eats up batteries quickly. All 3 cameras mentioned have a viewfinder.

6. The digital video feature takes wonderful "sound" videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone;
7. It comes with a USB 2.0 transfer cable which you connect to your USB computer port;
