I currently live in Cairo and am moving to Canada and i want to buy a digital camera! Will I need to buy it there due to the different voltage or do most digital cams have dual voltage...? The difference of voltage comes in AC (the mains plug-point).
All digital cameras work on batteries. So you need not worry that much. The only place where you need to be careful is the charger that will come with the camera. This charger takes AC as input and converts it to the voltage as required for charging the batteries. Most of the chargers these days, take in a wide range of voltage range. For my camera, the charger was meant for asia, but worked nicely in US. The only difference was that the plug system is different across the world. So get an adapter to convert the plug system. Speak to your neighbour in canada and they should be able to help in getting the appropriate adapters.
