I am wanting to buy a digital camera, here are my four choices. I really do not know much about camera's. So if someone who knows alot about camera's could give me there opinions on the 4 camera's listed below
PowerShot S3 IS Digital Camera
PowerShot A710 IS Digital Camera
PowerShot SD800 IS Digital Camera
PowerShot A640 Digital Camera
thanks for your help Depends... My daughter has an S2 IS and loves it. My son has an A620 and loves it. At the moment, if someone comes to me as a "friend who knows about cameras" and they just ask which camera to buy, I'm telling them to get the Canon Powershot A630.
Consumer Reports for November 2006 has ranked the Canon Powershot A620 as the best compact digital camera. It is becoming almost a legend for longevity at the top of various consumer lists. It looks like this model has been replaced by the A630, which I would expect to be just as popular. The A640 is virtually the same, but it is 10 MP instead of 8 MP (A630) or 7 MP (A620).

They all cost about the same - at least in the same general quantum of money. The A640 has 10 MP and the others are 6-7. The A640 does NOT have image stablization and the others do. The SD800 will fit in a shirt pocket and the others won't. The SD 800 requires special batteries and the others can all use "AA" batteries. The S3 zooms like crazy and the others don't. They are all good choices, but you have to decide which features you value the most. The Canon brand is just about the best camera brand you can get. |
