Best buy camera & binoculars?

Looking at going on safari but need advice on best digital camera & binoculars to buy for the trip. Obvisouly needs a good zoom facility & to capture fast moving animals witout bluring / shutter speed changable facility, best place to buy them & the option of maybe hiring them & where to hire from??

Binoculars: 8x40 or 10x40. The 8x40 will give you a wider field of view. The 10x40 will bring the image in about 12% closer, but some people have trouble holding them steady enough. If weight will be a problem, consider 8x30 or 10x30. If you wear glasses you will want a pair with at least 16 mm eye relief. How much do you want to spend? Top brand goes for about $1700, but you can buy a adequate pair for about $200 to $250.

As for cameras. Unless you want to spend about $1500 or more on a digital SLR, your best bet is a Canon PowerShot S3 with 12x zoom. You will need plenty digital storage, maybe a couple of 512 mm storage cards and also plenty of AA batteries.

Cost of the camera is about $380 to $400.
