I did the same thing. I read the reviews that had already bought the cameras at cheapest prices search engine. Consumer written reviews tell a lot about any product.

Kodak makes a double lens unit. There are sill some 5 MP V570s around for $200 and there are now 6 and 7 MP models. It has a 23mm effective fixed wide angle lens and then goes 28-90 for normal zooming.
