How much is it to buy a good digital camera?

well it depends on what you want and what you want to take pictures of. The higher the megapixels, the better the picture quality. 250 bucks will get you a decent small camera that will take ok pics. but If you want good quality prints and more options with your camera then you are looking at 500-1000 dollars. Olympus, Nikon and Canon are the top brands in my book. Sony, well lets just say they are not just in the camera making business so it is not their top priority.

You should spend between 180 and 250 bucks for a decent camera with a lot of megapixels...

A decent digital camera has as least a 3:1 resolution. Comes with a software drive disk and goes for about $40. The higher the resolution,the higher the price and the more complex it becomes.

No less then 200. At least 6 megapixels more if you can afford it, especially with memory dirt cheap now. I personally perfer a camera that accepts SD (Secure Digital) cards, because they are universal, easy to find, relitively cheap, and there is no risk of pin breakage or bends (like in CF (Compact Flash) Cards). And NO offbrands. Akai, Samsung, Vivitar usually produce low quality images even at supposidly high resolution. I stick with brands that have been in the business: Konica-Minolta, Canon, Nikon, Pentax. Excelent Results.
