I'm about to buy my first digital camera..i found one for 85.00 at wal mart..it has 5MP...is that a good size?

the mp is just the size you can blow the pics up to, so you dont really need many

Yep that is a good size. If you are a professional you might want higher, but 5 for just everyday use is great.

i think that mine HOLDS 60 pics and that is i think maybe 2MP but i am not sure.

That's a great deal. 5 Mg is plenty for most applications and just plain overkill for any website or email applications.

This amount starts to approach some professional photography applications.

lol- it doesn't really matter how much memory the camera itself has- it's more convenient to buy a memory card.

sorry but thats too cheap ... i bought a 75 dollar one at walmart and it sucks its better to save up for one.

As long as you are just using it for personal use and not trying to be a professional photographer, 5MP will be perfect to suit your needs.
If you were trying to be a commercial photographer or something like that, I would suggest a higher MP.
But if it's just for your personal use of taking pictures with friends and such, a 5MP camera is perfect, especially for $85!

5MP is a pretty common size nowdays, and is reall about as detailed as ive ever needed it, i have never gotten a fuzzy picture from 5 mp

that is probably one of the best deals you can get....wow that is pretty cheap for a 5MP camera....5MP is an excellent buy for 85 bucks!

I think so... mine is 5mp and it takes beautiful pictures! It also depends on the brand. (HP, polaroid, sony, kodak) Get a memory card and you will be all set!

You are ahead of the average

5MP is fine, but that doesn't necessarily insure you of an excellent 8X10 print. If this camera is a Sanyo, then I would very much consider Fujifilm FinePix A500. A few months ago Best Buy was selling it for $80- It's also 5 MP.

Yeh, the Sanyo 500 It's an OK camera. When it works it's great. Make sure it works real well and KEEP the BOX and RECEIPT. They demand it for repairs!
