Looking to buy my first digital camera?

Looking for something simple yet effective around the 拢150.00 mark?

I've just had the sony cyber shot model number dsc-p200,its very easy to use it has 7.2 mega pixels and 3.0x zoom,it has a rechargeable battery which lasts ages when fully charged.Before i had an Olympus one which took 2 AAA batteries,i spent 拢5.99 on proper digital camera batteries from sainsburys and i took about 10 photos and they ran out,so i took the batteries back and got them changed and the same happened again,so i had the camera exchanged and it still happened,i then had my sony one and its fantastic,it even has a display on the LCD screen telling you how long the battery will last till it needs charging up.it also has a metal casing not plastic like a lot of cameras,It cost me 拢200.00 but I'm sure if you look on the Internet you'll get it cheaper.Ignore what anyone says go get one if you can afford to.you'll save a fortune on batteries in the long run,hope I've answered your question good enough

The samsung e 500 is available from comet at the moment for just 拢89.99 (half price)....2 of my colleagues have bought it and its fab..I should know cos I am a professional Medical Photographer...just go on Comet website select samsung and voila.....its % megapixel..it just has one drawback it takes AA batteries...just get yourself some decent rechargable ones and you will be ok!!

Kodak Easy Share is a good one to learn with and not expensive either.

get as many megapixels as you can afford


dunner bother with high digital zoom, it's grainy

I recently bought a Panasonic DMCLZ5 (158.24 - Dixons online). Can't fault it ! 6MP with 6 x Optical zoom, average camera in this price range has only 3 x optical zoom. It also has movie feature with 30 frames per second and a Mega optical image stabilizer which is excellent if your a bit shaky when shooting photos or when using the full zoom. There are endless features on there if you need them but if not you can switch to easy mode and the menus / functions are reduced down to make things childs play.

It really depends on a couple of things:
1 - what are you going to use it for?
2 - what is your experience with cameras like?

Olympus the menus are easy and easy to download pictures to your PC, get the one with the rechargeable battery

I like Fuji film products.
