Who can tell me what digital camera to buy?

Want something that's not too expensive, takes good photo's (meaning quickly enough to actually catch the moment), and isn't entirely huge and clunky... It does NOT have to be microscopic either! LOL

I always buy Canon and highly recommend it for digital cameras. It is the best brand out there. It could be a bit pricey, but it lasts a long time and takes spectacular pictures. If you're looking for something around the 5 - 6 megapixel range then, I would suggest PowerShot SD700 IS. The IS stands for Image Stabilization, so if you're a bit shaky, it'll still keep your shot clear and sharp, instead of blurry. I would definitely invest in this camera, even though it's a little pricey ($400-500). However, it's very powerful, it'll last you a long time, and well-worth the money. If it's too costly for you, I would still stick with Canon, but look for a different model that suits your needs.

I'm not sure what specific model to buy that is cheap, but for a brand, canon is probably the best. Just a heads-up.

I just bought a Sony Cybershot after doing a lot of research - and using one my mom had. I think they are great and highly reccmd it.

Buying a digital camera is really a simple process. You need to consider four things when making this purchase.

First, you need to know pricing. The fact is, you always get what you pay for. When you want to buy a quality camera, you should check out all of its features. Go to a store and ask an employee to explain each camera they have. Feel free to tell them your needs and ask questions.

Second, you need to consider your own expertise. Do you need a camera which is easier to use or a camera with all the shiny attachments? Some people get concerned with numbers for Mega-Pixels or picture count. While you want to consider these, don't think too hard over the math.

Third, check how the camera saves information. Does the camera save to a memory chip and if so, do you need to buy additional chips or chips with larger memory?

Fourth, what powers the camera? Do you need to replace the battery regularly or does it come with a rechargeable battery?

Remember, whatever camera you buy, make sure you're comfortable with it's use. If you ask these questions, you should be able to get a nice camera at a decent price.

Get a Canon Powershot A530 if you want something in the $200 price range or a Powershot A540 for something in the $300 price range. Both cameras have the image stabilizer, they are the size of a regular camera and they take great pictures.

try the Nikon Coolpix 5700 or the 7500. The 5700 has 5 megapixs, sells for around $199 and is user friendly. The 7500 has 7 megapixs, sells for around $250 and is also user friendly.

Nikon Coolpix 4600....I am trying to find a good one to buy too...This is what someone suggested to me! You can get it at overstock.com for $125!

It has some good reviews except for the video mode! If you need video mode you might want to go with soemthing different....

Check out the Fuji Finepix F20 when it comes out at the end of the month. You should be able to get it for about $250. It is a cheaper, less advanced version of the F30, which has gotten incredible reviews for its photographic ability in low-light conditions.

I like Fuji film products.

i recommend something with ultra zoom, you will enjoy more having a camera.
i Had a compact and i got bored of it, it never Had much zoom.

buy a cam with 5-6 megapixel and a slr for sure
