If you guys have a good cameras that you like, recommend me one so I wont just buy a pricey camera and it would be as good as I wanted... It depends on what you want: compactness, high-end features, or superzoom. By the way you asked that I'm assuming you're not interested in bridge models. For ultra compacts, I recommend Sonys, such as their DSC T100, which packs 5X zoom. Sony produces very good ultra compacts. The T100 features optical image stabilization, 5X zoom, among other things. For compact cameras, I would recommend Canon's SD800 IS. It features an all-metal body, optical image stabilization (which allows you to take better photos in dim lighting). Another compact camera I would recommend is Fujiflim's F31 fd. It is the only mainstream camera that can take usable photos at ISO 800 (Use higher ISO settings to make pictures brighter in dim light). However, keep in mind it doesn't have optical image stabilization, so those two features in way, cancel each other out. For a medium sized camera (larger than compact, smaller than pro) camera, I would recommend Canon's A710 IS. This camera packs 6X zoom, optical image stabilization, among other luxurious features. my suggestion

the guide should answer your questions Jonathan made some excellent suggestions. Although, I'm not happy with the corner softness on the Canon SD800ISs lens. It's terrific that it goes to 28mm wide angle, but it's so fuzzy in the corners that it's not usable. I'd go for the SD700IS instead, which is really only rivaled in image quality by the venerable Fuji F31fd. |
