Gud luckie & thnkx 4 choosin an answer, lol, you rox & hav fun! Get a canon, kodak are some cheap brands that wont let you down. Go for the Nikon L10.
Around $120
Easy to use
Very easy to use.
Takes good pictures
More megapixles does not mean better. The 5MP sensor is fine for 8x10 enlargements.
Red-Eye Fix(not reduction, fix... fix is better)
compact.
It does use AA batteries. I would strongly recommend some rechargeable batteries. Rechargeable batteries will last longer then regular AA batteries.
It also has audio with the movie mode.
=) u should get a canon powershot A20!!!
those are good digital cameras, my older brotehr has the SD400 series
we also have a camera which is the A20 or something,, but those canon powershots are handy and small, very handy!!! Let's see here.
You want the "best" digital camera.
You have no time to shop or research.
Your budget is on the low end
and you're going to Wal-mart.
There are a few good cameras for around $200.
The best camera brands: Canon, Sony, Panasonic, Fuji,
I'd go for the The Panasonic FX01 if they have it. Great lens. Wide angle zoom. Optical image stabilization built in.
I like the Sony W55. or the Casio Z75. Both are pretty resonsive and have good image quality. You'll probably find the Kodak V803 there as well- which is cute and comes in colors, but is only average performance wise. They probably won't have the Fuji F40 or F31- but if they do... buy it.
Canon's new ones are a bit more expensive I think, but perhaps they'll have the SD1000 which is good. They'll probably have one of Canon's 'A-series'. They're Canon's cheaper line. Some are better than others, but if it's $160, you can be sure that it's one that has the tiny ccd and isn't the best. at walmart there is a pink polaroid camera... i forgot the model name but it's a polaroid and the benefits go towards breast cancer awareness. I bought one for my sister for a trip she was going on and she loves it! The only thing it's not great with it the fireworks mode. It catches the end of the fireworks. I hope this helped. Most times it's a mistake buying electronics rush, rush.
Remember whatever you buy, first read the owners manual. Take a few practice shots. Forget the pink Polaroid.
Take the advice of Morey 000.
Depending on features buy between $150 to $200 brands of
Sony, Canon, or Fuji. Morey 000 many times advises on the Fuji F20. Or check and see if Walmart has the Sony W-55. Don't forget to buy a MEMORY card. I went to WalMart.com and looked over their $150-200 selections. My choices would be in the following order:
Canon Powershot A630
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d...
Kodak Easyshare C875
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d...
Canon Powershot A560

Nikon Coolpix L12

Morey's Panasonic FX01 suggestion is a good camera, but it doesn't show up in the "under $200" search on-line. I like Canon. I have a lot of friends who like Canon as well. Mine is a PowerShot and I've been very happy with it. I do not like Kodak...or Kodaks software, which screwed up 2 different computers I was using. Even though I personally own this ultra compact camera, I would still like to highly recommend the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix L10 for the following reasons:
1. Besides taking well-exposed hi-quality 5 megapixel pictures, it uses a standard set of rechargeable double AA batteries which last a very long time;
2. Has a 3x optical zoom;
3. Takes "continuous" 2 frames per second "action/sports" images;
4. Has macro feature for close-ups of small objects focused under 6 inches;
5. The flash setting for "red-eye" correction is on the navigator wheel and not within a submenu;
6. It's very small and light;
7. Uses inexpensive SD memory cards - a 2 gig card sells for $19 at samys.com;
8. The digital video feature takes wonderful "sound" videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone;
9. It comes with a USB 2.0 transfer cable which you connect to your USB computer port;
10. Has tripod mount on bottom of camera;
11. And the price is a mere $119 [sold at Samy's Camera - www.samys.com, and Staples.com.]
