My parents need to buy a digital camera for around $200.00.?

I'm no pro, so could someone help me give them some advice?!

Those canons are good.

Best Buy is having a sale on all their cameras. They have a 6.1mp Kodak that is 249.00 - 60.00=189.00 for a total of 205,00 which includes tax. Kodak always has great quality, the pictures look professional as well. I had a 5.1 mp camera and it took pictures that were amazing. Go with Nikon, Kodak, Cannon or Sony brands also, they are the best for quality. If you just want to take pictures and don't care about the quality, you should though, you can call up best buy or go to bestbuy.com and look at the cheaper models. Atleast get 5.0pm or your shots may come out looking like they came from a web cam.

Review the specs on cameras: what it can do, what it can't do, understand the pixels of the images (for that matter, understand what pixels mean), what type of zoom (digital vs optical [I like optical]), if it has a memory card slot and if so, what is the max capacity card that can be used, what is the power source (I prefer ones with lithium batteries vs AA, AAA), can images be downloaded directly from the camera and if not, do you (or your parents) have the capabilities of reading from the memory card to their PC.

There's a whole lot of things to consider with digital cameras, but don't go hog-wild with the bells and whistles...excess is not always good.

I recommend a Panasonic DMC-LZ2. Go to Ebay. You can buy a used one or Brand new. A new one for about $125.00 This camera is 5.0mp and produces excellent pictures. Has 6X opitical + 4X digital Zoom for a combined 24X zoom. Can't beat it for the price.

i would go with the polaroid i630 it's a great one.
