I am planning to buy a digital camera with 2.3 megapixel my budget is Rs20000 which brand should i go for why?

If you are going to bother spending the money on a digital camera, don't go for anything less than 3 megapixels. You won't get anything near quality pics at any size with 2.3

2.3 mega pixels is not worth spending money on. you might as well by a cell phone with a camera instead. you get really good digital cameras with more pixels and that budget.
nikon-because it makes quality cameras that look good
pentax-because they have quality(no style) and they're cheap but they're a very well-known brand worldwide
sony- is good but it might be more expensive. def take good pics.the color is simply amazing

You get a Canon S1IS for 19800 with 3.2 mp, a Canon A 80 for 15000 with 4.1mp, Canon Powershot A310 for 8000 with 3.2 mp, Canon IXUS 500 for 17600 with 5mp, Canon S50 for 21000 with 5.3 mp, Canon A75 for 11000 with 3.2 mp. I'd suggest the IXUS 500 and the S50 as these give maximum value for money. Please check for after sales service support in your city before you buy a Canon as the only company service center is in Delhi. Your other options are Kodak DX 6490 for 22000 with 4.23 mp, Sony DSC W1 for 16500 with 5.1 mp, HP Photosmart 945 for 18800 with 5.25 mp, Nikon Coolpix series is very good and you get them in the range of 12000 to 20000 with 4-6 mp and these cameras can be serviced anywhere. My choice would be Sony H1 with a 5.5 mp for about 16k. It looks very good and gives excellent pictures. Hope this information helps.......

hey you will get an 2.3 megapixel camera fo rs 2000, if you hav a budget of rs20000 i think you should buy a canon a430 4 mp fo rs10500 or go in for sony cybershot t5 for around 15000 which is 5.1mp well the list goes on personally i will prefer canon a430 or sony dsc s600(6mp) as they are good to your pocket and also brilliant pictures as well

and as brand is considered i will give thumbs up to canon , sony and kodak

a 2.3 megapixel camera is worth nothing the picture quality may not be clear
go for a 5 megapixel camera or above camera & if Rs.20000 is your budget then Sony DSC W7 is suitable for you it is a 7.2 megapixel camera with 3X optical zoom &it costs around Rs.17000 to 18000
if u want a 5 megapixel camera then go for a nikon coolpix 4100 or 3100 it costs around Rs.6000 to Rs.8000
