I'm looking to buy a digital camera any suggestions?

Depends a bit on how much photography you have done before. I was a virtual beginner one year ago and was given a Canon A400 as a gift. WOW! It has changed my life! I now love photography, the camera is so easy to use and the results are stunning.

That all depends. I prefer Sony and Canon. But one might be better than the other according to price ranges.
For example, a $150 Sony might have more features and take better pictures etc... than the same price Canon. On the other hand, a $500 canon could be better than the same price Sony. I would say, when you shop around, ask the salesman for his/her opinion according to your needs. Ask to demonstrate models that YOU select as a considerate purchase, and decide for yourself which is better. I own all Sony picture and video equipment, although I know there are better out there.

Less than $150 is kinda cheap, considering that you will want to buy a memory card also. Check these out, though. They are lower priced for digital cameras...

Try Olympus. Make sure you only consider the optical zoom.

Also go in for a camera with at least 4 megapix.
