Help deciding?

Hi guys, I'm a kid so I don't really know much about cameras and I'm buying a Canon S5. and was wondering

Do I need this stuff? Should I buy it? Or can anyone recommended me a great lens.. Please and thanks!

Also how much would a 35m hold? Should I get a 1gb? Thanks :)

This stuff might be fun to have (especially the extra lenses), but if you're only using the camera for snapshots, you might not need all of it.

The essential things to get with your camera are a memory card (1 GB is a good size), a case, and rechargeable batteries with charger. The lens-cleaning kit might be a good idea, too.

As the rechargeable batteries you need are AA, you might already have some in your house. Ask your parents.

Also, let me give you some tips on Good Camera Hygiene that even a lot of adults don't know:

1. If your camera comes with a wrist or neck strap, use it! Attach it and wear it whenever you are holding the camera. This way, if someone bumps into you, the camera won't get dropped and broken.

2. When you are not holding the camera, make sure that it's put in a proper camera case. In addition to protecting the camera, it will prevent dirt from getting in and gunking up the lens.

I have a friend with a similar style Nikon point & shoot and she swears by these lenses and accessories that she has with her little kit.

OTOH, I carry a couple of DLSRs with 4 lens on the same journeys. Our photos are both artistic in nature and we both pull neat wide angle shots along with detailed macro pictures. I might get better image quality that I can use to sell my services in my event photography business, but in the end, we both have fun.

And fun is what this hobby is all about. If this kit will bring more enjoyment to the hobby for you then by all means get it.
