Item not received?

I have bought a digital camera from circuit city. It was shipped to my house by FedEx but I have not received it. FedEx claims it was shipped, but I did not get the package even though I was home at the time it was shipped. Circuit City did not request signature, yet they claim they are not responsible because FedEx shipped the item. FedEx claims they are not responsible because Circuit City did not request the signature. I am out $400, and a lot of sweat and tears. Has anyone ever encountered such a problem? Any adivce or details as to how I can get my (hard earned) money back? PLEASE HELP!

Item was only available online... I am not lazy :-)

1) dispute the item with your credit card company. This keeps Circuit City from getting paid and you don't have to pay the credit card company unless it's resolved against you.

2) if you did not receive the item, next contact FedEx and verify that it was delivered and that no signature was required. Get hard copies showing this.

3) Finally, contact Circuit City and complain that the item was never delivered. It's standard practice to require a signature on high value items, and I agree it's their fault. If they failed to make the request, it's their fault. Conduct all discussions in writing.

Bottom line: Circuit City should either get you a new camera, credit your account or not contest your dispute.

Also: Circuit City is on the verge of going under; I would shop elsewhere for your camera.

I worked for FedEx, the only way possible for FedEx to think the item was shipped 100% and you didn't receive it. Is that the driver scanned it for delivery and kept it. I can't think of any other way... the drivers always have the final scan. Package handlers only scan to tell you and the sender, "Hey it's in this warehouse."

if you used a credit card, call the credit card company and file a dispute. Visa, MasterCard and such usually offer assistance with this type of problem.

The big problem here is that Circuit City did not request a signature for a $400 item. and they are responsible for losing your camera.

Buy another one

I dont understand when you have a circuitcity store in your neighbourhood and order on internet to loose money...??? sue them in the court probably u make millions out of their mistake...
