Cracking avatars?

why do some peoples avatars look like they have been taken with a cracked camera lens?
they all seem to be the same as well.

Are they the bog standard Yahoo avatars? It may be how they were designed. I prefer my own picture anyway, lol:-D

It's a lightning bolt I believe... You can add it to your avatars background...
