Is there any way to retrieve lost photos from an SD camera disc?

I have managed to load the software, for my new digital camera. Somehow all my photos have disappeared taken last Saturday, yet the SD disc and the programme I had loaded the photos to acknowledged photos numbered 38 and 39 only. I am curious why nothing should exist now for photos 1 to 37. I am thinking that I may have accidently deleted them whilst still in the camera, as they have not loaded to my programme.

Also during the use of this new camera with entirely new SD disc and new batteries, the camera kept switching itself off. In addition to that there were occassions when the camera battery strength would change between 3 tags to 1 and then back uo to 3 tags, sometimes it said battery power low and just stopped working. After a total of approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes use the camera stopped working and refused to retract the lens till the following day.

The next day I tried to check what I had taken and only 6 thumbnails appeared. Out of 33-37. What do I do now?

Sounds like your camera is going nuts. If you have a memory card reader attached to your computer, use that to verify if your files are really lost. If there are, like the other person said, you can use software to get your photos back provided that you haven't tried to take any more pictures.

When a memory card gets deleted, it really doesn't lose the pics. The memory card is just programmed to think that the pics are no longer there. As long as you haven't taken more pics that write over these pictures, then you can recover them quite easily.

You will need a memory card reader though (see link below) and software to recover the pics. Problem is, you have to pay for this recovery software unless you know how to search for cracked programs on the internet (I found a few).

Also, most digital cameras that use regular AA or AAA batteries usually die in the timeframe given. It's not out of the ordinary for them to chew through batteries in an hour. That's why most higher end cameras come with their own lithium ion rechargeable batteries cause they last a lot longer.

Sandisk got a program called Rescue Pro on their website.
its a demo(unless you Purchase it).
