I have 300$ to buy a dig.camera do u think Sony will be a good choice?say Ur opinions.?

u know i wont change it for many years maybe for 5 or 7 years .what should i notice at, at all?whats more important? memory?pixel?lens? and second question is there any camera with bluetoth to make transfering easy??? thank u all for answers

I have bought several Canons and are very happy with them. Here's what I think you should look for:

1. Pixels - the more the better. You should be able to get one with about 8 Mega Pixels (MP) for that price.

2. Zoom - look for optical zoom. Digital zoom means nothing when taking pictures. Youcan do the same thing on your computer once you download the picture. BTW, set your camera for the highest resolution. You can always re-size it to a smaller size without a problem.

3. Memory card - most will come with a small memory card, but you can always buy bigger after market ones. Secure Digital (SD) cards are smaller, easier to carry, and cheaper than Compact Flash (CF), but this is not too critical.

I have not seen any Bluetooth cameras, but I have not really looked lately. USB works fine for me.

The technology in this area is not complex. So, the price of a Digi may not mean it any better than another brand. I bought a Fuji Camera years ago for $50 on clearance. It has all the features "I" need. It takes great pictures. BUT, there are a few draw backs. Mine has 3 pixel settings; .3, 1 and 2 mega pixel. The higher the pixel the large and more detailed the picture and the larger you can make a Hard Copy without distortion. Another problem you may want to consider is the "White Balance" there may be another word for this, but, it the camera's ability to take pictures in the dark or low light. Other than these two things, most cameras are much the same. Maybe it's Zoom needs considered. As far as Blue-tooth I not know anything as I not use it.
So, for "Me", my next camera, I will look at how high the mega pixel setting goes ( 5 mega pixel or higher) and How well it take pictures in the dark, especially without the flash.
But, Sony is a good camera and one I will be comparing with others for price and the features I want.

It depends on how serious you are about photography AND what you will be using it for. I'm assuming you want a point and shoot, rather than a SLR with interchangeable lenses. If you will be making enlargements, you want more megapixels, (5 mp is plenty if you don't enlarge higher than 8X10) if you will be shooting a lot of large files at one time you will want a bigger memory card - 512mb at least. File transfer is easy on any camera, pretty much, so don't worry about it. Your question can't be answered fully without knowing what you'll be doing with it.

HOWEVER, having said that, $300 can buy you a decent consumer level camera, if you just want to take pics for email etc. and rarely print bigger than 8X10. Anything from the Canon line is good because they are very easy to figure out and on each camera, if you keeping trading up, the controls are pretty much the same. So you don't have to keep re-learning with each new model. Do a search on photography forum boards and read up on this sort of thing. You'll find much more info there. Happy Shooting.
