Digital Camera LCD SCREEN Transplant?

I have a camera that's compleatly new but, the lcd is craked!
( I can't take it to store or send it in to get fixed)
And, I found another camera, same manufactorer and size 2.5' with the LCD in perfect condition but it has a problem with the lens mechanism. sooo I wanted to buy that camera with the working LCD and transplant it to the other camera that has the screen craked!! Has anyone tried this? In past days i've opened up some electronics with lcd's like cell phones and I notice that the LCD is connected by only 1 connection... so should I opened it? I dont care if at the end i ruin both cameras!! but, if it works ill be extremely happy with a new pink 7megapixel camera fixed by me.. and besides it only cost 13.00 and the one that has the good lcd is gonna cost me 2.00 soooo what should I do, any tips on opening a camera?.

nope im not gonna sell it on ebay, cause I bought it there, I want to see if I can fix it just for fun, I have no need of a new camera becasue I have others including a new sony w100 that I bought weeks ago!!!.. to TOM TOM thanx's alot i was searching on google and yahoo but with the wrong keywords, now after reading a few links im so exited!!!! i'm just waiting for the new lcd;

Try and see. Normally LCD screen are fixed with connectors. If the connectors are same then you will not have any difficulty. But suppose it is different then you had it.You loose money both ways.

go to yahoo search
type replace lcd screen

give it a try

get a new camera, dont try anything by yourself
sell it on ebay to someone

If it doesn't matter if you kill both of them, then get out your magnifying glass and your tinest jeweller's screwdrivers and take a look.

you can try and replace it or you can get a new one but see if you can get a new part first before doing anything first
