JVC 'Lens Cap' Error?

I have a JVC GRD270US camcorder and im having the 'lens cap' error problem...
but unfortunately MY camera model isnt on the list for free repair on the JVC website...

what do i do now??
anybody know how i can fix this??

Mine is a GRD60 and this worked for me. Go through the menu pages, find and select RESET. That should do it.
