Digital camera help??

I dropped my digital camera last night and now the lens thingy won't go back in and the screen is like static green and it turns off real fast.
Please help me?
Is there anything I can do (its my brothers. Ah!)

Sneak into your brothers room and put it back! Deny you ever borrowed it! Lie, lie, lie! Wait a day or 2 and while he is in his room go in and ask him if he'll take your picture. When he sees its broken, call him a klutz and idiot since you really needed a picture today!
Then again Christmas is coming and you didn't need any money for the next month or 2 anyway! Or offer to fix him up with one of your good looking friends!
Other than that you're SOL. The repair is probably more expensive than a new camera if its a point and shoot...

Send it to the service centre of the manufacturer.

Sounds like the fall dislodged the mechanical parts inside. The camera probably preforms a self diagnostic at boot up and failing that shuts down, thus you get only the green screen because you never get a functioning camera. Sounds like a trip to the manufacturer for repair is inline.

you can't fix it yourself. Neither can a local camera shop.
It's gotta' go back to the manufacturer's repair center. They usually take a few weeks, but aren't unreasonably priced for repairs.

If its a cheap camera, just go buy a new one. You will spend $50 to have it looked at, plus the cost of parts and labor. If its a camera that was about $200 retail, your best bet is to just buy another one. Considering it has a lens that retracts I would imagine it would fall into that category.
