I have used this camera a lot. Suddenly the lens cover won't open on any setting. Sometimes opens part way. Have I changed a setting and messed it up? Is there a solution? Hello!
Its possible that all your camera needs is a little routine service. Actually a lot of cameras experience that sort of problem due to some dirt build up that interferes with the proper opening of the lens cover.
However before bringing it to servicing please try this:
First make sure you have a fresh or fully charged set of batteries. Then clean the battery contacts in the camera as well as the contacts of the battery itself. You can use a pencil eraser for the batteries and the contacts on the battery cover but DONT use it for the contacts inside the camera. For that you can just use ordinary DRY Qtips. Please make sure that none of the eraser residue gets into the camera.
Try turning on the camera and see if the lens cover opens all the way.
If not then you just have to bring it to your nearest PANASONIC service center for rountine servicing and cleaning.
