Why are TV screens square or rectangle and not round like camera lenses?

Why are TV screens square or rectangle and not round like camera lenses?

While the lens is round, it focuses light on film frames, which are square or rectangular.

Cameras that shoot video have light focused onto square CCD chips that produce the image.

Finally, TV screens have always had a linear make-up. Even the old 'round tubes'. They are made up of hundreds of horizontal lines that are scanned from top to bottom. (though today's HDTV sets have a little over a thousand lines, and are sometimes scanned progressivly, but that's another question).

Each of these factors played some role in the screen shape we have today.

they actually used to be round in the very early models.

because everything tech is square

BECAUSE its easier to look at a rectangle screen as the eye perceives the image better

..b coz if u watch that 'unimaginable' TV, u re like a jackass person...
