My kodak easy share camera doesnt always turn on, the light lights up, but the lens doesnt open, help?

Change the batteries. New digital cameras eat up normal alkaline AA batteries! Try rechargeble AA batteries or Energizer Lithium.

Mine does that when the batteries are very nearly dead. Try new batteries.

Batteries could be the problem... or there could be a problem with the lens. It takes very little amount of sand or dirt to jam the lens' zoom and focus gears. If either of these operations do not function properly the camera will recognize this and either shut down or give an error.
Next time you turn it on try to listen to whether or not you hear a straining noise or any noise at all. This may indicate there is a problem.
