Assuming this is a typo and you are speaking about the 80-210mm f/3.8-4, I believe this is an old (discontinued 1987) manual focus lens using the Adaptall 2 mount system. You will get NO exposure metering on a D50 with non Ai-P manual focus lenses.

As mentioned, it will fit on the camera, but you will have to manually focus and meter with that lens.

There are thousands of good used Nikkor auto-focus lenses out there. Get one of them.
