What's wrong with my camera? |
My Camera lens won't go down. It's a Samsung Digimax 53. make sure the batteries aren't shot and lens cover is all the way open it needs repaired I had and still have a SONY 3.2 MP camera that acts up. It's time to take it in for repair! if you have a current warranty on the camera, there should be no charge for the repair! if your warranty is older the 30 days old, sorry to say your warranty is void! you can always pay for the repair. I'm a digital imaging specialist at best buy and I see this problem on a semi-frequent basis. Generally this is because the camera has had an impact (i.e. dropped), but it could also be because the camera is older. I would like to ask how old the camera is? Consider the lens opening and closing every day for a few years - sometimes they just wear down and simply break. I would suggest replacing the batteries if you haven't already done so, consider the age of the camera (over 2.5 yrs?), contact support, and as a last resort take the camera to a repair shop (where they are likey to charge you half the price of the camera, depending on what's actually wrong with it), or, save that money and purchase a new camera. |
