I think i broke my camera wat do i do?!!!?

i know im an idiot but my camera fell off my desk and now it will turn on but turn off right away. The camera lens wont retract like it is supposed to when turned off. But my battery was also low when this happend so do you think its a possibility that it will work once recharged? If not im screwed. Any advice?

Take it to a camera shop. Sometimes, if the problem is simple enough they will fix it on the spot. They can also be a source of good advice. Just ask them what they think. Couldn't hurt anything.

It's possible that when you dropped it some gears got knocked out of alignment. The camera might have a sensor which determines when the lens is fully retracted. If after a predetermined amount of time the lens isn't fully retracted the camera enters an error state and turns itself off to prevent further damage.

Charge your battery and check it out. Mine works unless the battery is totally dead. If it's not the battery and you don't have a warrenty you could check with a camera shop that offers camera repair. Other than that I guess you just have to buy a new one :(

it might. you could replace some of the hardware in it if you need.
you could always buy a new camara.

if it is broken take the screws off, and where the power chip is/ are.
take it out and shock peeps with it

buy a new one

Well first try recharging it and look for the instruction manuel, because they normally have a toll free help number that can help you fix your problem, when my camera was not working i charged the battery and turned it on to days later and it worked. I Figure just keep playing with it because you cant make it worse than it already is, and if worst comes to worst you can take it to a camera repair shop.

Well, Nikki, you have a few options available. First, you can disassemble your camera and attempt to locate the problem. I may be able to help you with this--if you choose this method, proceed to A. Another option is discarding your camera and purchasing another. If you choose this method, proceed to B.

A.
This entials some camera knowledge. If, however, you do not possess this knowledge, don't worry, I can help you. The first thing to do is acquire some tools. You can probably find a hammer around your house. In the best case, you would have a specialized screwdriver for your camera (either flat, philips, hex, or torx, depending on the brand of your camera). If you find this rare and obscure tool, proceed to step A1. If you cannot, and only have a hammer, proceed to step A2.

A1.
Use this special tool to open the case of your camera. Note the locations of these major components: the lens, the battery, the button, and the screen. Visually inspect each of these components to ensure functionality. Look through the lens. Is it clear? Good. Now press the buttons. Do they press? Fantastic. Next, try the screen. Is it flat and clean? You should probably clean that off. Lastly, the battery. Drop the battery in a solution of H2O and NaCl. If it starts to fizz, the battery is in working condition. You may now reassemble the camera, using your previous notes, and close this window. If it is not working, you must proceed to step A2.

A2.
Place the camera on a solid, stable surface. A concrete floor works well. Grasp the hammer firmly in both hands, and raise it above your head. Line up with the camera, and swing downward with all of your might. If your camera is still intact, raise your hammer and swing again. Repeat until you have at least 2 pieces. This step is essential. Now, proceed to step B.

B.
Locate a trash receptacle, dumpster, or similar. Pack the camera (or its pieces, if coming from step A2), and toss it inside the trash receptacle forcefully. Try to use as much force as you can, it greatly increases the effectiveness of this method. Now, enter the nearest bank, store, or similar. Reveal a weapon (firearms work well; knives and bats are not as effective). Ask the nearest employee for a sum of 3,141 US dollars. If he or she does not have this amount, take all the money this employee possesses, then proceed to the next employee and ask for the remainder. When you possess the currency, proceed to the nearest Wal-mart. You should find a nice camera in the Electronics section. Purchase it with your newfound purchasing power. Return to your home. You may now close this window.

Well NiKki, never mind if u have broken ur camera . Don't conceal this matter from ur parents, confront them.
Take it to the camera repairer , the rest depends on ur luck, whether u get a scolding or spankings.
Best of luck!
