When you buy a camera body dose it come with a lens?

I am looking at canon rebels and the pictures all have lens.I think that if I buy a body only that Iwill still need to buy some lens.Am I right?

Right you are. But the lens you'll get is a good starter one.
I'm thinking you'll next think about a zoom and then maybe a wide angle.
Don't be afraid of getting a used lens (from a reputable store). It's a great way to experiment and start your collection.

It depends. You can buy it with a lens, or without.

Sme cameras do have a standard lens with the deal, some are the body only

why the heck would anybody in their right mind buy just a camera body? didn't you know the camera will not click without the engine?

I have several cameras (digital and film) You can on some cameras buy only the body, but make sure you have the right lenses or the body will not do you any good. I am looking at buying the nikon d80 and will use my existing lenses so will only be buting the body. Some cameras only come complete.Check out London drugs online and they list the cameras with and without lenses. Hope this helps!!!

When you buy a body, that's exactly what you get -- a body. You still have to buy the lens to go with it, but this is where you have a wide range of choices to get exactly the lens (or lenses) that you want.

A zoom lens is good for general work, but for something special, you will probably want to work with a telephoto lens and a closeup lens, as they bracket the range of the zooms.

Just read the description carefully. Some bodies are packed as "kits" with a lens or two included. Obviously, you will see a big difference in price as well.

One of our devoted Canon users really recommends this lens over any kit lens from Canon: EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM (28-135 equiv.)

They usually include one lens but you'll have to buy the specialized lenses.

Yes, you will need a lens of some sort. Some camera enthusiasts will buy a body only and then buy specific lens types to suit their needs. Also, many lenses are interchangeable with different model cameras (both digital and film) from the same manufacturer.
