for table top shooting and portraits.. Sorry guys, but the premier portait lens is 70-200. There is absolutely no question about this! The only exception is if you are doing full body shots then you will want wider, or you are doing a specialized shot!
The reason the 70-200 (or nikon 80-200) is the ideal range for portraits is; in range of about 90-135 gives the most natural looking face. Meaning there is the least noticable lens distortion to a person. wide angles make people look like they have big noses and longer lenses make everyones face look flat. A 105 for portraits and a macro for table top shooting. That would be the best. |
