How dose a lens work in a camera?

The lense of a camera is round. When the light hits the lense straight on (in the middle), the light keeps going straight. When the light hits the lense at an angle (away from the center), it gets bent toward the center. The farther away from the center, the steeper the angle so the farther it bends.
