If I brake the lens of my Sony Cybershot DSC-T10 digital camera how much is the new lens for it?

Unfortunately I broke the lens of my DSC-T10... and I lost the certificate of guarantee.

Sorry to hear about your accident.

It's not so much the lens you are paying for as the skilled technicians time to fix it. Typically a repair like that would cost 拢150 ($300 at current exchange rate) to repair.

I know it's pretty awful but it's an expensive part and also hard to replace.

Sony wouldn't repair that under guarantee even if you did have the certificate as it's not a mechanical defect with the camera, more 'user error' as they may call it.

Many cameras do not have a brake or even a clutch.

Usually damage to a camera by blunt force is not covered by any warranty. Camera companies expect you to treat their products as a camera, not a cell phone or MP3 player.

Your only choices are to go to a Sony authorized repair station or buy a new camera.
