Do you see life throught the lens of a camera?

Do you see life throught the lens of a camera?

to the same degree you would see life through a window.... The perception of the seer determines the impression , not the window. If there is an art to photography it is in the pre-visualization of the final photograph and its production, not so much in the "let's see what came out".

No, but I narrated my life (like a book) before.
I go through the strangest phases.

I never use a camera anywhere I go. I prefer not framing my experiences and existence with a blasted camera. There's enough pictures out there already.

yes

sometimes i do, at times I don't ...its different feeling

the camera is just a tool to capture what you see. however i do look at everything from a different perspective since i started taking photos. i notice how light falls on things, or how shadow is interacting with things, or different textures or lines and forms. i notice a lot more things now

Years ago when I first started taking pictures I had a camera glued to my eye. All that did was ruin relationships, vacations, and basically my view of life. EVERYTHING was seen in still life. But what happened was that I missed REAL life. It is said there are no new pictures only rehash of work already done. I had a pretty high opinion of myself that I could turn the photography art world on it's ear. It took years to realize that my view was pompous and wrong and blink, life started back up. The camera is simply a brush with which one can paint bits of perceived life. It is NOT more then that it is a tool only.

How to people present an image.

1) How they see things
2) How they want things to look

A reflection of a facet of the photographer's life more so than what life is being captured. Maybe the using of other life in combination of self's life to show an image or creation.

Kind of. I don't take my camera EVERYWHERE, I don't see a potential photo in EVERY SINGLE thing I look at, but I do look at some things and think 'I wish I had my camera' on a daily basis. I ponder on how I could make it a great and interesting photo, and give it a different perspective. The great thing about photos is you can share the beauty that you see in things with other people, who otherwise may not notice anything special about it. A photo of something very ordinary, artfully taken, can make people go 'Wow! I never noticed how interesting the leg of a table can be!', and I really enjoy being able to do that... sometimes ; P So, in that sense, I guess I see life through a camera but I feel it enhances my experience of life and I wouldn't want it any other way.
