Can I use a lens from my film camera on a digital camera?

I have a Nikon N70, can I use that lens on a Nikon D70??

Here's the Nikon lens compatibility chart:
http://www.nikonians.org/nikon/slr-lens....

Remember that the D70's "multiplier factor" only means that an image made with a D70 will have the "angle of view" of a lens of a longer focal length than the one mounted.

Subject magnification, depth of field, and apparent perspective are unchanged. It's an urban myth that a DSLR can "turn a 200mm lens into a 300mm lens".

All of you Nikon lenses will work with the D70. Lenses from other manufactures have to be checked.

Be aware that there is a 1.6x factor. A 50 mm lense will perfrom like a 80mm lens on the D70.

Most likely, as bwlobo says, but it depends on exactly which lens it is. Look in your owner's manual (or check on-line at www.nikonusa.com) to see if auto-focus and other features will be preserved. Or - since you ownthe lens already, just stick it on your camera and see. It WILL fit without damaging anything without doing any damage, unless it is something like an 8 mm fisheye - not likely.

The Nikon D70 lens factor is 1.5, though, and not 1.6, which is the common factor for Canon's. It would act like it was a 75 mm lens.
